Dans Le Noir – Carlton

A group of us went to Dans Le Noir last weekend.  No real idea what it would be like.  We knew we would be eating in the dark .. but don’t think we realised how dark dark is.  Restaurant staff were fantastic from the beginning.  There were 9 of us going and Chloe couldn’t have been more helpful with assisting with the booking, and checking us in on the night.

The waiter/guides are vision impaired.  Marco our waiter/guide was fantastic.  Guided us to our seats.  Gave tips for pouring water without pouring it all over ourselves.

The meal was really good.  We had all chosen the 3 course meal, some of us with matched wines.  The food bordered on sensational, although we had trouble deciding what we were actually eating!  The wines complemented the food, and other/more drinks were available on request.

Humbling to have this tiny insight into what it means to be blind.  And it is only a tiny insight.  We all knew we would be back out in the light and sighted world after dinner.

Would I go again?  Absolutely!

Pic is of the first course.  Well not really.  But it is an accurate representation of what the meals looked on the night.
