Champagne Charlize This restaurant is amazing. Total gem in Bentleigh. Can’t believe it took me so long to find this place. Alex and Eve have been running restaurants for over 50 years and have it down pat. The menu is billed as European and Alex and Eva’s heritage is evident in the choice of dishes. Chicken soup with matzoh balls, cabbage rolls and goulash all feature. But my favorites are the Seafood Chowder and the Seafood Marinara shown below). Not to say that the other items aren’t good. The pumpkin, sweet potato and coconut soup is seriously good. The crepes filled with roast duck are another outstanding entree.
Alex and Eve have the knack of making you feel family, while still providing excellent service. Your drinks are kept filled – including the water glasses and bottles. Dirty plates are removed promptly. We have been back, and back and will go back again. Next we are planning to try their breakfast menu.
